Crash On Highway 49

Columbia, CA -- There is a single vehicle accident on Highway 49 between Parrots Ferry Road and Old Sonora Columbia Road near Columbia.
CHP reports a car has gone off the roadway and over an embankment. Emergency crews are on the way to the scene. There is no word on any injuries.
CHP reports the roadway is blocked with debris so motorists will want to take precautions in the area.

Update 1:30 p.m.: CHP reports an ambulance is on the scene. They say the north bound lane is blocked with debris so they are directing one-way traffic in the area.
Update 2:10 p.m.: CHP reports Highway 49 is opened and traffic is moving freely.
