Energy - power lines

Sonora, CA -- PG & E reports the lights are out for some 265 customers in Tuolumne County. They say there are four outages with most of the homes without power being in the Phoenix Lake-Cedar Ridge areas. PG & E reports crews are working on the problem, but there is no word on what is causing the outages. Also, there is no estimate on when the electricity may come back on for those customers.

Update 10:30 a.m.:  PG & E reports crews are trying to bypass a circuit problem that may have caused the power outages.  They still do not have an estimated time of when the power will be restored.

Update 1p.m.: PG & E says power is resorted to customers.

During heat or snow, overburdened electric cables, transformers, and other electrical equipment can fail. Be safe, never touch a downed powerline or electrical equipment. For our yellow page listings of local power providers click here.
