Blasting On Highway 108 Bypass
Sonora, CA - You may hear some loud booms if you are near the Highway 108 Bypass today.
Caltrans says crews will be blasting away rocks near the construction site in Sonora. They say the explosions will begin at 4:30 and end around six o'clock this evening along the Highway 108 Bypass. However, Caltrans reports the roadways will not be shut down so motorists should not see any traffic delays.
The work is part of the $52.9 million East Sonora Bypass Stage II project that began in mid-April. It will extend Stage One of the Bypass, which was completed in 2002.
