Sonora, CA -- Summerville High School's bond extension is endorsed by the Tuolumne County Chamber of Commerce. Voters will be asked to cast their vote on the eight million dollar, Measure H, bond on the November 6th ballot.

Superintendant John Keiter says, "I believe the endorsement represents the fact that a broad cross section of business oriented individuals in the county see what a great deal the bond extension for Summerville High School is. It doesn't increase the tax rate. It doesn't increase the burden on our property owners, our senior citizens and it's a great thing for our students."

Keiter says tax payers will also be protected by a Citizens Bond Oversight Committee. He refers to it as a watchdog group that will monitor how and where the money is spent. For an earlier article on how to apply to become a member of the committee click here.

Keiter says the Summerville High School Board has identified five areas for improvement if the bond passes: technology, health/safety, PE fields/facilities, modernization, and HVAC/lighting.
