Tuolumne County, CA -- Tuolumne County Visitor's Bureau brings back "Vacationland". The Bureau is rolling out a new or should we say revised logo to entice more visitors to come to Tuolumne County. The TCVB is actually revamping and expanding a vintage logo that was first created in the 1950's.

TCVB Director of Marketing Lisa Mayo says, "It was interesting looking back at old newspaper articles and seeing the area simply called Vacationland. It was smart and spoke directly to visitors. The brand made a lot of sense then and it makes a lot of sense now."
Mayo says some long-time residents may recall "Sonora Pass Vacationland" which referred to the activities and towns found on upper Highway 108. She says back then a map was created outlining the recreation in the high country and the area became known by many as "Vacationland."

Mayo says the difference this time around is that Vacationland will be inclusive of all of Tuolumne County. The new logo, attached to this story and restyled by local Graphic Designer Linda Gough, will be used on retail items as well. Mayo says people will start seeing the Vacationland logo in print and online advertising as well as on the TCVB Facebook page. It will also be debuted on the 2013 Tuolumne County Visitors Guide. She says TCVB Members will have many opportunities to link into the new brand.

Mayo also says they are looking for any old "Vacationland" memorabilia. If you have any you would like to share please call the TCVB at 533-4420.
