A Sonora Assault Suspect Turns Himself In

Sonora, CA - Police report during their investigation into the assault of 31 year old Jonathan Douglas of Sonora last weekend they were able to contact the sister of suspect, 28 year old Frederick Rivette. They say she called her brother and was able to convince him to turn himself in.
Police report Rivette gave himself up on Wednesday at around 4:00 p.m. He was charged with felony battery with serious bodily injury.
Police say Douglas is out of the hospital and is at home recovering from his injuries. During the attack at a home on the 100 block of Columbia Way, Douglas suffered severe head injuries and had to be flown to Doctor's Medical Center in Modesto for treatment.
Police had already arrested 32 year old Joshua Connell of Sonora on charges of felony battery resulting in serious bodily injury.
They say the investigation is still continuing.
