Sonora, CA - CAL Fire reports a cigarette ignited a blaze at the Junction Shopping Center on the 13700 blcok of Mono Way in East Sonora. They say someone tried to put a cigarette out in a flower box and ignited the plants inside it.
CAL Fire reports flames shot out of a planter box and spread to a nearby post. It happened just after 1pm on Thursday near the Starbucks Coffee Shop. CAL Fire says this is one example of why it is so important to use the proper cigarette receptacles that are provided.
Crews were able to put out the flames in about 30 minutes. CAL Fire says no one was injured.
