Ash Pile Started Fire

Soulsbyville, CA — Fire officials put out a quarter-acre vegetation fire in Soulsbyville.

Shortly before 7pm on Thursday, firefighters responded to the 17000 block of Oak Tree Lane. Resources were called from Columbia, Twain Harte, Mono Village, Jamestown, Mi Wuk Village and Mono Vista. Investigators determined that fireplace ashes had been dumped into a leaf pile, and it quickly spread to ¼ acre of vegetation. Thankfully no homes or buildings were damaged.
