A Possible Tuition Hike
San Francisco, CA - The Associated Press reports a California State University (CSU) committee has approved a plan to raise tuition by 5 percent for its students. That hike will only happen if Governor Jerry Brown's tax initiative is defeated by voters in November.
The AP says if Proposition 30 fails it will trigger a $250 million midyear funding cut to the 23 campus CSU system. They say the tuition jump would help cover the loss of those millions. The full CSU Board of Trustees is expected to approve the measure tomorrow.
