On Friday night the Sonora High Wildcats varsity football team earned their first victory of the season at Dunlavy field over the visiting Calaveras Redskins by a score of 35-26.

The Wildcats defense played well despite the offense commiting three costly turnovers, all of which lead directly to Calaveras touchdowns.

Despite the turnovers, split end Thomas Erwin scored two touchdowns for Sonora, and senior fullback Brandon Camara scored three touchdowns against the Redskins, bringing his touchdown total for the past two games to six.

With the win, Sonora improves it's season record to 1-2as it prepares to begin Valley Oak League play next Friday in Stockton against the Weston Ranch Cougars.

Also, Sonora Junior Varsity won their game 22-20.
