The Amador-Tuolumne Community Action Agency (ATCAA) says there is a great need for dairy products in Tuolumne County.

Lee Kimball, ATCAA Food Bank Director, was Thursday's KVML "Newsmaker of the Day".

Kimball explained, "We are discovering that there is a huge calcium deficiency in Tuolumne County and we are going to concentrate over the next couple of weeks on trying to combat this."

Teaming up to help ATCAA with the cause is the 2012 class of Leadership Tuolumne County, which is associated with the Tuolumne County Chamber of Commerce.

The public is invited to help "Fill the ATCAA Dairy Truck" at three specific events. The first one is this Saturday (April 14th) from 10am - 2pm at Twain Harte Market in Twain Harte.

The second drive will take place on Saturday April 21st from 10am -2pm at Grocery Outlet. The third drive takes place at Safeway on Tuesday April 24th from 10am -2pm.

Milk, cheese, yogurt and other dairy products will help feed Tuolumne County's children, the needy and the elderly.

All dairy collected will remain in Tuolumne County.

For more information on this program call Kimball at (209) 984-3960

The "Newsmaker of the Day" is heard each weekday morning on AM 1450 KVML at 6:47, 7:47 and 8:47am.
