Stakes Placed In Ground For Calaveras County Jail
San Andreas, CA -- The Calaveras County Jail and Administration Center took a symbolic step forward Tuesday as the first stakes were placed in the ground to mark the boundary lines of the 12 acre project.
Captain Eddie Ballard was Thursday's KVML Newsmaker of the Day.
Captain Ballard says the actual groundbreaking is scheduled for mid-2010, and completion is expected by around early 2012.
The jail will have a total of 240 beds. The firm Kitchell CEM, Inc. is overseeing the design and construction.
