Arrest Following Highway 49 Crash
Mokelumne Hill, CA -- A Mokelumne Hill man sustained major injuries in Monday's crash on Highway 49 near the lower Mokelumne Hill Grade.
The CHP reports that 52-year-old Barry Allen Clark of Mokelumne Hill crashed through a guardrail and drove down a steep embankment at around 9:55am. Clark was life-flighted to Mercy San Juan Hospital in Sacramento. He was arrested for driving under the influence.
For a period of time during the morning Caltrans had to close Highway 49 while emergency officials assisted.
