Avery, CA -- Now that Thanksgiving is over, it is time to light the Christmas tree.
A pair of tree lighting celebrations will take place tonight in Calaveras County. The annual Avery Christmas Tree lighting celebration will start at 5:30pm at the corner of Avery Sheep Ranch Road and Highway 4. The switch will be turned on at 6pm. Santa will be making an appearance, and those that attend are asked to bring a non-perishable food item.
Also, the annual tree lighting at the Copperopolis Town Square starts at 5pm. Local talent John Campenella and guests will be there to sing holiday songs.
