Delays Between Sonora And Columbia

One Lane Controlled Traffic on Hwy 49

Sonora CA -- Motorists have been experiencing minor delays today on Highway 49 at the Sonora City limit sign.
A 500 foot stretch of one way controlled traffic is due to construction of a private driveway for the house at 11927 Highway 49.
Caltrans says five minute delays should be expected, and workers on scene say they expect it to take all day. Travel with caution in the area, as the curves and numerous gravel and logging trucks on highway 49 can cause abrupt and unexpected traffic backups.
The house has been in the process of being remodeled for the past several months. Two skip loaders and a backhoe are leveling and preparing the ground (see photos).
