Tioga Pass Temporarily Closed
Yosemite Valley, CA-- Three roads in Yosemite National Park including Highway 120 Tioga Pass, will temporarily close tonight.
Due to the weather, Tioga Road on Highway 120, the Glacier Point Road, and the Mariposa Grove Road will close at 8:00 pm.
A winter weather advisory has been issued and will be in effect tonight from 8:00 pm until 8:00 am Friday. Up to seven inches of snow is expected above 6,000 feet.
Temperature lows are also expected to be 11° Fahrenheit tonight, and 5° Fahrenheit by Friday night.
Park officials strongly recommended that all motorists carry tire chains while driving in Yosemite during the fall and winter months. All roads within the park are subject to chain control or temporary closures due to hazardous driving conditions.
Roads temporarily closed are expected to be reassessed for opening by midday Friday.
