The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for the Sierra Nevada from Thursday 5 PM through Friday 8 AM.
One to four inches of snow accumulation may fall above 4000 feet. Three to seven inches are possible above 6000 through 7000 feet.
Steady winds of twenty to forty mph are likely. Wind gusts of up to fifty to seventy-five mph are expected over the Sierra crest.
Temperatures on Friday will average ten to fifteen degrees below normal.
A second system will move through the area late Saturday into Sunday. This will bring another chance of light rain, mountain snow and the continuation of cold temperatures.
