Stimulus Money Heading To Stanislaus National Forest
Sonora, CA -- The U.S. Forest Service has received $1.15 billion from the Federal Stimulus Package, and portion will be coming to Tuolumne County.
Jerry Snyder with the Stanislaus National Forest says a Granite Sawlog/Biomass removal project on the forest will receive $186,000 from the first round of funding. The money will be used to complete road maintenance work and remove hazardous fuels that have grown on acres burned during the 1973 Granite Fire.
