Sonora, CA-- If you drive by Courthouse Park this afternoon or evening don't be alarmed by individuals who seemed to be dressed for Halloween a bit early. It will be the participants of the first annual "The Walking Dead Sonora" In addition to being dressed in their most gruesome zombie look, participants are asked to bring food for the ATCAA food bank or for the Humane Society & Sonora Cat Rescue.
A make-up booth will be set up at 2:00PM, the event officially starts at 4:00PM and ends at 7:00PM. Attendants may be covered in red paint, look seriously injured, extremely pale and dead, or indeed "undead". The event organizers are calling it a "family friendly event" with one of the award categories for "Best Child Zombie" (age 6 - 12).

The internet is full of ways to prepare to defend yourself "in case of a zombie attack". But have no fear Sonora, this is only a very temporary invasion of Courthouse Park.
