Asphalt Dumped On Highway
Mokelumne Hill, CA -- Highway 49 is closed this afternoon between Mokelumne Hill and the Calaveras-Amador County line.
The CHP reports that a big rig truck has overturned and dumped asphalt onto the highway. Two other vehicles were involved in the accident, and the CHP reports that one person has been transported by ambulance to Sutter Amador Hospital. It is not known how long the highway will be closed, but motorists are encouraged to find an alternate route this afternoon.
