Lightning at night

The National Weather Service had issued a Significant Weather Advisory for the Sierra Nevada until 3:30 PM.

At 3 P.M. Doppler Radar continued to indicate strong thunderstorms along a line stretching north from near Fisch Camp and Wawona across Yosemite National Park. The storms were nearly stationary.

Wind gusts in exess of thirty-five mph were expected with these storms along with heavy rain and occasional lightning strikes.

Locations impacted included areas just above Fish Camp, Wawona, Yosemite Valley and other areas of Yosemite National Park.

If threatening weather approaches your area, take shelter in a sturdy building.
