Sonora, CA-- The "Red Flag" fire warning for the Mother Lode and Sierra Nevada remains in effect until 8:00 tonight.
The fire warning issued by the National Weather Service, is calling for critical fire weather including a combination of strong winds, low relative humidity and warm temperatures. These conditions will create explosive fire growth potential.
Storms will be initially dry but should become wetter later this evening. Gusty and erratic wind gusts up to 30 mph are possible near any thunderstorms that form.
