Huell Howser To Showcase Jamestown
PBS California television personality, Huell Howser, will showcase Jamestown this evening on KVIE's "California Gold".
Stephen Willey, Proprietor for the 1859 Historic National Hotel, was Thursday's KVML "Newsmaker of the Day".
Willey was responsible for bringing Howser to Jamestown and highlighted enough sites throughout the community, to make for a one hour show. Railtown 1897 also helped out in highlighting the community.
Featured attractions will include: Railtown 1897, The National Hotel & Restaurant; Gianelli Vineyard; The Emporium Antiques; Charlie's Bookstore; The Jamestown Methodist Church (1852) and the Historic Jamestown Jail (1897).
This episode was already shown in other parts of California including Los Angeles, but will be seen tonight from 9 - 10pm in both Sacramento and Fresno.
Willey first met Howser three years ago at a CABBI (California Association of Bed & Breakfast), conference where Willey was state president and Howser was one of the featured speakers. But it took the restoration of Engine #3 and the help of Railtown, before Howser would fully commit to shooting the town.
The "Newsmaker of the Day" is heard each weekday morning on AM 1450 KVML at 6:47, 7:47 and 8:47am.
