Paloma, CA -- A Calaveras County man was arrested after going into a neighbor's home and allegedly threatening people with a sword. The incident was reported along Cloward Road in Paloma.

The Sheriff's Department says that 33 year old Kevin Melby later left the neighbor's residence and was contacted by deputies at his home. Melby refused to open the door and reportedly threatened to kill the deputies. The Calaveras County Swat Team went into the home and deployed a device that temporarily incapacitated Melby so he could be taken into custody. The FBI has been assisting the investigation.

Earlier in the week, Melby was arrested for brandishing a firearm at a different victim, unrelated to the case. Melby now faces multiple charges.
