The comments posted here do not reflect the opinions or views of Clarke Broadcasting or its affiliates. Comments are moderated before they can be seen publicly. This service and the comments that are posted are provided for community information purposes only.

My Mother Lode Comment Guidelines

Comment moderators use specific criteria, including the following guidelines, for determining if a comment should be shown on our site. myMotherLode.com may choose not to post or to remove the comment if it does not meet our comment guidelines. myMotherLode.com does not assume any liability for content posted by others. myMotherLode.com cannot assure the truthfulness, accuracy or reliability of information posted on the discussion boards. myMotherLode.com reserves the right to delete any message under circumstances that, in myMotherLode.com judgment, are inappropriate, unlawful or otherwise detrimental to the community dialogue.

1. Be Respectful

In cases of tragedies and/or fatalities, please be sensitive to the parties affected. The individuals involved and families of those featured in our stories can and do read these comment boards.

Personal attacks, hateful, racially or ethnically derogatory comments, harassment or threats will not be tolerated. Keep your comments relevant to the article.

2. Avoid Nasty Language

Foul, obscene or sexually explicit language or other content that a reasonable person would find objectionable is not permitted. Suggestive or obscene language or "cleverly" disguised vulgar, suggestive or obscene language is not tolerated.

3. Don't Spam

Advertisements, solicitations or promotions will not be allowed.

4. Use Your Own Words

The distribution of intellectual property not belonging to you is not permitted. When posting a comment you represent that you have the legal right to reproduce, adapt, perform, display and distribute such content to others.

5. Make Yourself at Home

Remember, this is your community. Don't be shy to chime in and interact with the Mother Lode community.

6. Comment Limitations

Comments are meant to be singular opinions. Should you want to interact with other commenters about any particular news story or topic we welcome you to begin a conversation in our forums.

Comments are limited to 800 characters, longer posts will not be approved. Comments on a single news story are limited to no more than four per user name.

The forums are for more lengthy discussions and you may post links to your forum post in one of your four news story comments. If you have not registered for our forums the link is here.

Any comments you wish to send directly to myMotherLode.com (without posting) can be emailed directly to the department or program of your choice as listed on our Contact Us page. If you have reason to believe that a comment is unlawful or contrary to the guidelines set forth above, please notify us immediately at sambler@clarkebroadcasting.com.

By posting comments on myMotherLode.com you expressly grant myMotherLode.com and its affiliates the right to reproduce, adapt, perform, display, and distribute any such message in any form worldwide, in perpetuity. Credit will be given to you if you give your legal name, and indicate that you are doing so.

By submitting comments and pictures for consideration for myMotherLode.com gallery, you further agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless myMotherLode.com, its affiliates, and its officers, employees and directors from and against all liabilities, claims and expenses arising from or relating to your posting of material on myMotherLode.com discussion boards and/or blog comments (including any claim that myMotherLode.com or its affiliate's use of such content infringes the copyright, trademark or other proprietary rights of any third party) or your use of material posted on myMotherLode.com.

You may choose the name by which you will be identified on screen. We discourage you from posting an email address as your name. We encourage you to use your legal name (first and/or last). If you choose not to use your own name, you may not use any name that intentionally impersonates another or violates another's intellectual property rights. Any name deemed offensive by myMotherLode.com will be deleted.

As the Internet and our discussion boards evolve, it may be necessary to change these guidelines. myMotherLode.com reserves the right to changes these guidelines at any time in its sole discretion. The current guidelines will be available to you online.
