Tuolumne County Library intermediate computer classes

The Tuolumne County Free Library is launching a comprehensive offering of computer classes. They are a curriculum based series, with set "lessons designed to help individuals learn basic computer skills. All Classes are one, 2 hour session, from 8 AM- 10 AM
Beginning Microsoft Word (version 2003) – You’ll learn how to write and edit a letter. You’ll become familiar with how to navigate around the computer screen and copy and move blocks of text.
Dates: March 23, March 25, April 20, April 22, May 18, and May 20.
Intermediate Computer – Learn how to change the desk top appearance, set your preferences, how to find things and how to save documents.
Dates: April 6, April 8, May 4, and May 6.
Beginning Email – “What is Email and how do I use it?” You’ll learn how to create a new email account using various applications and how to send, receive and manage email messages
Dates: April 13, April 15, May 11, and May 13.
Taught by Mr. Rittenhouse's (limited to 6 students in each class, any class can be repeated as desired.)
He has a BSEE from UCLA majoring in Electronics and Systems Engineering. After graduation he worked for 40 years in the Aerospace industry working as a navigation systems engineer and later a marketing manager. He retired from Northrop-Grumman Navigation division June 2002.
In addition, the library is able to offer one-on-one learning sessions, with Library Assistant Shelly McFarland. Individual learning sessions are limited to 2 students at a time. Please call 533-5507 to schedule a session. "We are so pleased that Shelly is able to schedule these sessions and spend time on an individual basis with people who have little or no computer knowledge but would like some one-on-one help to answer specific computer questions." says Lynn McCormick, Literacy and Outreach Librarian. "Shelly is devoted to serving the technology needs of the community."
All classes and individual learning sessions are free of charge, require advance registration, and are held at the Sonora Main Library on Greenley Road. Sign-ups are on a first come, first served basis. Call 533-5507 to register for the classes, or to get more information.
