The Alpha Iota Chapter of Omega Nu's mission is to focus on helping women and children in need in our county, as well as our senior citizens. Over 90% of monies raised is given back to our community in charitable donations. These donations are made to a wide variety of programs, projects, community groups and individuals, including but not limited to Smilekeepers, ATCAA, Center for a Nonviolent Community, as well as scholarship awards to graduating High School seniors and Columbia College students. This past Christmas, Omega Nu purchased coats, shoes and other clothing for over fifty schhol-age children. Omega Nu also offers one-time grants for local groups and individuals in need.
Alpha Iota Chapter usually has two major fundraising events each year. This has allowed the group to donate in excess of $300,000 to the community since our founding in 1939, and more than $200,000 has been donated since 1999.
