Wednesday, August 22, 6:30 - Music in the Parks - Sourdough Slim & Robert Armstrong
The Calaveras Arts Council's Music in the Park will visit the Murphys Community Park on Wednesday, August 22 with a lively program featuring Sourdough Slim and Robert Armstrong. Slim is a Mother Lode favorite, having three times been nominated for Entertainer of the Year by the Western Music Association. The concert starts at 6:30 p.m. The Murphys Community Club will have food, wine and other beverages for sale. There is no admission charge. Monday, September 3, 6:30 p.m. - Labor Day Concert - Calaveras Community Band
The Calaveras Community Band, which traces its history to the days of the Gold Rush, will present a rousing Labor Day concert on Monday, September 3, under the direction of bandmaster Mic Harper. The program begins at 6:30 p.m. and will feature a wide range of concert band music. The Murphys Community Club will have food, wine and other beverages for sale. There is no admission charge. Friday, September 7, 5:30 p.m. - First Friday in the Park - Swing Gitane
The Murphys Community Clubʼs final First Friday concert of the year will be September 7 at 5:30 p.m. with Swing Gitane providing the music. They call their style acoustic swing from another era and include gypsy music as well as American, Latin and cowboy jazz. The MCC will have food, local wine, and other beverages for sale. Alchemy Restaurant will be serving their signature Thai-style chopped chicken salad. Lavender Ridge will be the evening's featured winery. There is no admission charge.
