Heritage MuseumHours: 10:00a.m.-5:00p.m. daily 1894 Six Mile RoadMailing: P.O. Box 2492 With a few exhibits of early California Gold Rush History this is the place to check out when you are at Ironstone vineyard for one of their many lovely events. You can't miss the huge Alhambra Theater Pipe organ. Even more impressive is the astounding crystalline gold leaf specimen. It is the largest of its kind in the world, all forty-four pounds of it! |
The Sierra Nevada Logging Museum tells the history of loggers and logging-related industries in the Sierra Nevada mountains of California – from the discovery of gold in 1848 to the present day. The 2400-square foot building has working models of sawmills and logging camps, historic logging photos, dioramas illustrating the evolution of logging from the 1850s to the present day, and a large collection of logging tools. The museum also has a library/research room that is available for those seeking more information about our lumbering heritage.
