Swimmer Pleads GuiltyMonday, January 26, 2004 - 02:50 PM
A synchronized swimmer headed for this summer's Olympics in Athens will spend 90 days in jail upon her return after pleading guilty to vehicular manslaughter in a car accident near Sonora.
Tamara Crow, a St. Louis native who attended U.C. Berkeley, was involved in an auto accident last year that killed her boyfriend and a 12-year-old boy. Crow's jail term, however, has been postponed so she can swim in this summer's Athens Olympics.
Crow said in court last Friday that she lost control of the car as she was driving her boyfriend to the Dodge Ridge ski area. Crow was also driving the 12-year-old boy to his parent's cabin in Pinecrest.
