Sonora, Ca -- The Stanislaus National Forest will be conducting a pair of large prescribed burns later this month, so residents may soon start noticing smoke in certain areas.
194 acre burn will be carried out in the Femmons Meadow Area, eight miles northeast of the community of Groveland. The Mi Wok Ranger District is also planning to conduct a 100 acre prescribed burn in the Wright's Creek area, four miles south of Long Barn in the Tuolumne River Drainage near Fahey Meadow.
Forest Service officials say that the burns will be conducted sometime this month, and the dates are dependent on weather conditions.
