Sonora, CA -- Effective October 13-20 the Tuolumne Utilities District will be preaching conservation as the entire ditch system will be shut down for annual maintenance.
Customer Service Supervisor Lisa Westbrook states the process will start when P.G.& E. shuts down the main canal for maintenance. T.U.D. will then follow suit once the ditches have been drained. Conservation becomes the key word as the only county water supply for the week will be what is stored in tanks. Westbrook advises residents to shorten showers and take a week off from watering the yard.
