Twain Harte Resident Suffers Major Injuries In Single Vehicle AccidentMonday, October 06, 2008 - 01:00 PM

Sonora, CA -- 22 year old Sasha Schindler of Twain Harte suffered multiple cervical fractures following a single vehicle accident Sunday evening at 10:45 on Hwy 108 east of Via Este.
According to the CHP report, Schindler was driving her 1999 Volkswagen Beetle when due to her state of intoxication and while using a cell phone with no hands-free device, she crossed the double yellow center lines into the eastbound lane. Schindler made an unsafe turning movement and her vehicle and traveled off the south side of the roadway impacting a tree. The vehicle overturned numerous times before landing on its top.
Schindler was transported to Sonora Regional Medical Center by ambulance with major injuries. She is currently listed in critical condition.
Due to her state of intoxication she was placed under arrest by the CHP. Schindler was wearing her seat belt. She was the only occupant in the vehicle.
