Calaveras Defensible Space Compliance Enforcement

San Andreas, Ca -- If you live in Calaveras County, you had better have the proper defensible space around your property.

On Saturday and Sunday, CAL Fire will be conducting a defensible space compliance check in the County.

Information Officer Lisa Williams says that citations will be issued to homeowners that do not have the proper clearance around their homes as required under Public Resources Code 4291.

100 ft. of clearance is required around all structures, or to property lines, whichever is closest. The minimum fine to violators is $340.
