Town Hall Meeting Scheduled For "National Night Out"

Sonora, Ca -- The Sonora Police Department will host a town hall meeting on Tuesday, August 5th as part of the nationwide campaign entitled, “America's Night Out Against Crime.”

From 6-8pm at the Sonora Opera Hall, Officer Jaime Boeding will speak about traffic safety and Investigator Hal Prock will talk about identity theft and elder abuse.

Police Chief Mace McIntosh says, “This is a night for America to stand together to promote awareness, safety and neighborhood unity. National Night Out showcases the vital importance of police-community partnerships and citizens involvement in our fight to build a safer community.”

National Night Out is designed to heighten crime and drug prevention awareness, generate support for anti-crime efforts, strengthen neighborhood spirit and send a message to criminals that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.
