Operation Mom Collecting Items For Troops

Sonora, Ca -- Operation Mom is out today at Courthouse Park in Sonora collecting items for U.S. troops overseas.

The majority of the items collected will be sent to a Marine base in Iraq in which many of the troops recently lost most of their personal items in a fire.

The organization is also selling t-shirts, pins and bumper stickers to help purchase additional items and mail the care packages.

Residents can drop off non-perishable food items or cash donations until four o'clock this afternoon.
