Tuolumne County, CA -- According to Incident Command Team Public Information Officer Dennis Cross, the 2,889 acre North Mountain Fire is now 90 percent contained.
Cross adds that 100 percent containment is expected this evening. Resources are already being diverted to other northern California fires. Currently there are 473 personnel fighting the 13 day old fire caused by a lightning strike June 21. 13 firefighters have been injured but none seriously. All have been treated and released.
Today's plan of attack will focus on a northeast spike camp eliminating snags, or burning trees that could fall. Embers could then cross containment lines. In addition crews will be working to place lines around unburned islands.
