Stanton Sentenced To 40 Years In Prison

Sonora, Ca -- 30-year-old David Roy Stanton will spend 40 years in prison for the murder of Jon Steven Flaherty back on August 25th of last year.

Flaherty's body was found by investigators three days later in the Deer Creek area near Murderers Gulch.

Stanton was sentenced to 15 years for a conviction of 2nd Degree Murder and an additional 25 years for a gun enhancement charge. There is not a possibility for parole.

The sentencing was handed down this afternoon in Department Four of Tuolumne County Superior Court.
