Columbia, Ca -- 36-year-old Luke Spreadsborou of Reno was arrested after causing a head-on collision Tuesday afternoon on Hwy 49 that led to the road being closed down for over two hours.
Spreadsborou was traveling south near the Rawhide Rd. intersection when he drifted into the oncoming lane of traffic and collided with a truck driven by 50-year-old Roby Epperson of Sonora. Spreadsborou fled the scene, but was eventually located by law enforcement trying to hide under the Mormon Creek Bridge west of Hwy 49. He was arrested for driving under the combined influence of an alcohlic beverage and a controlled substance.
Epperson had five passengers in the vehicle, and all were taken to Sonora Regional Medical Center to care for injuries. They ranged from minor injuries to a broken wrist and ankle.
