Sonora, Ca -- The growth of Black Oak Casino and the happenings of the Tuolumne Band of Me-Wuk Indians were discussed at the Chamber of Commerce's Town Hall Luncheon this afternoon.

Casino General Manager Ron Patel gave a presentation and took questions about “Phase Three” of the casino which will include the construction of a hotel, conference center and golf course.

The 150-200 room hotel will be adjacent to the casino and the golf course will be located on the Westside property. Patel says the hope is for all of the projects to be completed within 5-6 years, noting that the hotel will most likely be the first priority.

Tribal Counsel Chairman Kevin Day and Tribal Executive Director John Otterson spoke about projects such as the planned Me-Wuk Cultural Center, Emergency Services Building, and ways the tribe is working to educate the next generation of leaders.

The luncheon was held at the Peppery Bar and Grill.
