Sonora, CA -- The Sonora pair of Caleb Applegate and Michael Ludlum have partnered with Jason Usry of Savannah, Georgia to form Beloved Pictures LLC.
Serving as Managing Partner, Applegate states the goal of Beloved Pictures is to produce quality films that will have a mass appeal. He adds that whether the forum is the cinema, DVD or a multi-media platform such as the internet, Beloved Pictures has diversified its talents to suit the needs of produced films and those that are acquired. While the domestic film industry may be centered in southern California, Applegate and Ludlum will continue to make their homes in the Mother Lode utilizing Sonora as their base of operations.
The first project for Beloved Pictures is The Phoenix, a movie based on the inspiring life of former University of Kentucky football player Harold Dennis.
Dennis was an outstanding high school athlete, but he was severely burned in the worst drunk driving accident in U.S. history. 27 people on a bus were killed as they returned from a church oriented field trip.
Nevertheless Dennis went on to enjoy an outstanding career as a Wildcat wide receiver in Lexington capturing numerous national awards.
The Phoenix is scheduled to start shooting in September.
