Carnival Workers Arrested At Calaveras County Fair

Angels Camp, Ca -- Two carnival workers were arrested on day one of the Calaveras County Fair and Jumping Frog Jubilee.

Sheriff's deputies arrested 35-year-old James Gorman of Quincy, Massachusetts because he had an outstanding warrant for assault with a deadly weapon and failure to register as a sex offender. When deputies attempted to handcuff Gorman, he broke free and fled on foot. He was later captured and pepper sprayed in an adjoining parking lot.

Deputies also arrested 48-year-old Robert Mitchell of San Francisco for failure to register as a sex offender. Mitchell was transported to Calaveras County Jail without incident.
