Sonora, CA -- The Sonora Police Department in conjunction with the Sheriff's Office and the Highway Patrol will conduct a sobriety/drivers license checkpoint Saturday somewhere within the city limits between 8pm and 2am.
Chief Mace McIntosh comments, "Traffic volume permitting all vehicles will be checked for drivers who are under the influence of alcohol or drugs or driving while unlicensed. Our goal remains clear; the Sonora Police Department will not tolerate such reckless behavior. Our zero tolerance policy remains in effect." This sobrity/drivers license checkpoint is made possible by the grant awarded to the S.P.D. by the Office of Traffic Safety.
