San Andreas, CA -- The Calaveras County Board of Supervisors will conduct a study session this afternoon at 1:30 to discuss staffing needs for the Sheriff's Department.
Captain Jim Macedo comments that he has been working on this project for approximately two years. An independent consulting firm has confirmed that the department is badly understaffed when considering the growing population of the county. Macedo admits this report probably comes at a difficult time given budgetary cutbacks and reduced state funding from Sacramento.
The study session is open to the general public. The overall supervisorial meeting will start at 9am at the Government Center on Mountain Ranch Rd.
