Rodeo Fans Headed Toward Mother Lode FairgroundsSaturday, May 10, 2008 - 10:30 AM

Sonora, Ca -- Many of the top competitors in the region will be at the Mother Lode Fairgrounds over the next two days for the 51st annual Mother Lode Round-Up Rodeo.
Events that will take place on both Saturday and Sunday include bull riding, the calf scramble, bareback bronc riding, team bronc riding, saddle bronc riding, steer wrestling, team roping and women's barrel racing.
The men's professional events are sanctioned by the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA), and the barrel racing is sanctioned by the Women's Professional Rodeo Association (WPRA).
One of the highlights over the two days will be Oregon's Tyson Thompson shooting for an unprecedented fourth straight bareback title.
The rodeo will begin at two o'clock on both Saturday and Sunday.
