Angels Camp, CA -- The City of Angels Camp will be shutting off water to the city on Monday, May 12 at 9pm for approximately nine hours.
A recent inspection revealed the main water line into the city is in immediate danger of failing. The city will be shutting down the old main line and connecting to the new line water distribution system. After service is restored, normal water usage may be resumed EXCEPT for drinking and cooking. Residents are advised to use bottled or boiled water for consumption until further notice.
When the connection is completed, water samples will be taken for bacteriological water quality monitoring to determine the safety of the water. The city expects to receive the sampling results within 36 hours of testing. Residents and businesses will be informed immediately when the testing indicates the water is safe for consumption.
