Countdown Continues For Mother Lode Round Up Parade

Sonora, CA -- One of the highlights of the Mother Lode Round Up each year is the Saturday morning parade.

This year the parade will get underway at 10am sharp according to Sgt. Glenn Roberts of the Sonora Police Department.

The CHP and Caltrans will close Hwy 108 at Washington St. to thru traffic at 8am. Traffic wishing to enter the city will be diverted to Stockton Rd. or Mono Way off the Bypass.

Westbound traffic on Mono Way will continue north on Stewart St. Traffic wishing to go west on Stockton Rd. will be diverted to the Bypass.

Southbound traffic from Hwy 49 will be diverted at Elkin Street at N. Washington St. Traffic will be allowed to continue east on Elkin St. to N. Stewart St.

Eastbound traffic will be permitted to continue to Green Street and Stockton Rd. At this point there will be a hard road closure. Traffic will be turned around at that point and sent westbound on Stockton Rd.

Vehicles wishing to proceed north from Stockton Rd. will be diverted to Forest Rd. to Bonanza St. and then to Snell St. Traffic will also have the option of going west on Hwy 49 to Jamestown on Shaws Flat Rd.
