CHP Collects 160 Plus Books To Calaveras County Non-ProfitsMonday, May 05, 2008 - 01:15 PM

San Andreas, CA -- The CHP office has collected and donated more than 160 books to three local non-profit organizations during the 2008 Cesar Chavez Book Drive which started on his birthday, March 31, and came to a close earlier today.
According to CHP Officer Jaime Castillo those books will be distributed to the Calaveras Women's Crisis Center, the Human Resources Council and the San Andreas Teen Center in a 2pm ceremony today. This marks the seventh annual Cesar Chavez Book Drive. More than 60,000 books have been donated to non-profits statewide since this program was initiated in 2002.
