San Andreas, CA -- Hwy 49 on the Calaveras side of the water was the site of a Sunday afternoon accident when a 2003 Harley slammed into a 1997 Ford pickup.
59 year old Leonard Stovall, Jr. of Jamestown was riding the Harley when he crossed over the center line causing the collision. 60 year old Gary Johnson of Altaville was behind the wheel of the other vehicle. CHP Officer Lori Harmon says Stovall suffered a partially severed left leg, a fractured left femur and a fractured right arm. He was airlifted to Doctors Hospital in Modesto.
Johnson suffered only minor injuries. He sought his own aid.
Alcohol was not a contributing factor. No citation was issued.
