Phoenix Lake Man Collides With Transformer At HotelTuesday, February 26, 2008 - 06:25 PM

Sonora, Ca -- The CHP says a Phoenix Lake man fell asleep while driving and proceeded to collide with a transformer box at the Sonora Oaks Best Western Hotel Tuesday afternoon.
The incident was first reported at 4:45pm.
“He had been putting in some long shifts and had been trying to stay awake driving from work to home,” says Officer Olga Boenisch. “The last thing he remembers is that he fell asleep and collided with the transformer box.”
The driver, Richard Paul Villegas, was not injured in the accident. The incident caused a complete power outage at the Sonora Oaks Best Western Hotel.
